  • Approximately 10 hours drive from Sydney
  • From Brisbane the trip is about 90 minutes
  • From the Gold Coast the drive is approximately 60 minutes
  • From Goldcoast/Coolangatta airport is just 45 minutes
  • From Ballina/Byron airport it is 20 minutes

By Air

  • From Sydney: REX (Regional Express) have flights into Ballina and Lismore with land connections to Byron Bay.
  • From Sydney or Melbourne you can fly with Qantas, JetStar or Virgin Blue to Byron/Ballina airport at Ballina or Gold Coast/Coolangatte airport at Coolangatta (see map).
  • From selected New Zealand airports fly into Gold Coast/Coolangatta airport
  • Major international carriers fly into Brisbane
